Kangaroo Point Cliffs
For only $5 you can do a twilight rock climb at Kangaroo Point under the supervision of qualified instructors. If that doesn’t appeal, then try running up and down the 107 stairs at the eastern end of Kangaroo Point Cliffs. These can be accessed from the cafe or, for a warm up, why not run the 3km from the city to the point before you tackle them?
Swimming Pools
A great way to tone your arms and improve cardio fitness is to go swimming in one of the free or low cost pools in and around Brisbane. A couple of these are heated so there’s no excuse for not visiting in winter!

Free ParkRun Events
Brisbane’s free ParkRun events are just the ticket for anyone who likes to have a little friendly competition to keep motivated. These 5 km runs are timed and leave from New Farm and South Bank on Saturday mornings.

Brisbane is surrounded by scenic mountains just asking to be climbed, so dust off your hiking boots and take your pick of:

Dance at Cloudland
The dance floor at Cloudland is a great place to work up a sweat and get your heart pumping. It’s also an excuse to get dressed up in swanky attire. Every Thursday night there’s a free salsa session from 9pm until late with a live band. Oh and the decor is pretty impressive too.
Walk or Run on a Treadmill at Home
Last but not least there’s the convenient option of simply working out at home. By hiring a low cost treadmill, exercise bike, cross trainer or rowing machine you can exercise in the privacy and comfort of your own home whenever you want.
