If you’re keen to grab as much screen time as possible for the Rio Olympic Games, then make it easy to catch every moment using the variety of digital broadcasting methods on offer. Thanks to home-entertainment technology, this three week event will be clearer, bigger and closer. Here’s how to make sure you can view all your favourite sports from the comfort of your armchair, at work and while out and about.
Scheduling of events
Getting the timing right for live viewings is essential so you don’t miss out on the action and of course Australia winning gold! Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne are 13 hours ahead of Rio, Adelaide is 12 ½ hours ahead and Perth is 11 hours. Local sites such as SBS and ABC Sports are your best bet for scheduling events as they don’t use syndication. You can also set reminders in your calendar for key events with Channel 7’s Olympics on 7 Reminder app.
Watching on TV
Channel 7 is the main channel for watching the 2016 Olympics on free-to-air TV as it owns the broadcasting rights. Additional digital channels 7TWO and 7mate will also have Olympic coverage. If you have an Ultra HD TV then you’ll get even clearer picture and detailed closeups – i.e beads of sweat on Usain Bolt’s brow!
